AI agents

Claude and other AI assistants can work in JamSesh with you: write parts, mix, check the result and answer your notes. Only when you switch it on.

Switch it on

  1. Open ⚙ and tick Allow AI agents. It is off again every time JamSesh starts.
  2. Choose what agents may do under Agents may: Make music (the open project), Files in the JamSesh folder, Record and play live, Devices, controllers and modes.
  3. Press Copy for Claude Code and paste it in a terminal, or Copy for Claude Desktop and add it to Claude Desktop's settings, then restart it.
  4. While an agent is connected, 🤖 Agent connected shows at the top. Click it to stop the agent.

What an agent can do

  • Make a song: tempo, sections, tracks, notes, sounds, effects, the mix.
  • Listen to its own work: JamSesh measures the mix and every track for clipping, noise, distortion, masking and a chorus that doesn't lift, and the agent fixes what it finds before it hands the song over.
  • Make parts sound played instead of programmed, balance levels by measuring, and give tracks a fitting effect chain.
  • Use your loops, pads, decks and controllers when you allow it.
  • Answer your notes: write a note on the timeline and the agent works on it.

Everything an agent changes is one undo step, so ↶ always takes it back. Show what agents did lists every action.

Extra ears (optional)

  • Listening model: a neural network that judges how finished a mix sounds. Put its files in the folder that Open the folder shows and restart. Check the mix then also gives its opinion.
  • Cloud ear: with your own Gemini API key, agents can ask Google's Gemini to listen to the mix and give musical notes. Off until you give a key; the key stays on your computer, and the mix is sent to Google only when an agent asks for a critique.
